FIA Car Presentation

Car-presentation documents are the FIA weekend PDFs that list new or updated components each constructor will run. Pit Trace stores those lines as confirmed upgrade rows, keyed by team and race weekend.

What the PDF lists

Each race weekend the FIA publishes a car-presentation document. It lists F1 car presentation upgrades: the new or revised parts each constructor will run.

The table names the Updated component, the primary reason (Performance, Circuit specific, Reliability, or Structural Improvement), and a geometric-difference note versus the previous version.

The PDF is typically a constructor-level declaration for that weekend. Pit Trace stores those lines as confirmed upgrade rows keyed by team and weekend. The PDF never stamps a part “major.” Pit Trace does not invent that label either.

Confirmed vs reported

A line from that PDF is confirmed. Confirmed FIA upgrades are the number on the weekend board, the race Upgrades tab, and Tech / Updates.

News about the same weekend is reported (a muted subline, not a second count). When a story overlaps an FIA row, it is marked superseded. The FIA line stays as written.

How charts use the rows

The season package mosaic and upgrade charts on Tech / Updates drill into the same cards as the race Upgrades tab. They are a season index of those F1 new parts. They do not replace the rows.

Major packages means confirmed updates covering at least three car regions (front, floor, side, rear). That is a Pit Trace filter, not an FIA label.

For a given track, open Circuits. It keeps a demand profile (what the circuit asks of the car) and the confirmed FIA upgrade history from weekends held there.
