FAQ

Where can I see every F1 team's upgrades each race?

You can see every F1 team's upgrades for each race on Pit Trace, organized by race weekend. Open a race weekend from the home calendar, or open Tech / Updates for the season index of confirmed FIA car-presentation rows. Each row links to its FIA document.

What is an FIA car presentation?

An FIA car presentation is the race-weekend document in which teams declare new or revised parts. Pit Trace stores those lines as confirmed upgrade rows, keyed by team and weekend.

How do I track PU element usage and grid penalties?

PU / Elements shows power-unit allocation: how many engine elements each driver has used against the legal limit, and how many are left before a PU grid penalty. PU grid: allocation grid-place penalties confirmed by FIA B8.2.8 Decision or Infringement documents. Those rows sit on the race weekend PU tab.

What is the difference between PU grid and a start penalty?

PU grid means confirmed FIA steward Decision or Infringement rows under sporting article B8.2.8 (allocation grid-place penalties). A start penalty is a pit-lane / technical start sanction from the stewards. Parc fermé changes (locked-car swaps) are a separate change log. Estimates on PU / Elements are labeled Inferred +N, Over limit +N, or Inferred PU grid.

How fast is it updated?

Rows are added automatically after the FIA publishes each document, and every row links back to it. If the FIA recalls a document, its rows are removed.

Is it free?

Yes. Pit Trace is free to read, including the race weekend board, Tech / Updates, and PU / Elements.
